The full set of outcomes:

The Principled Extremist

Your hypothetical villainy would start somewhere admirable and simply refuse to stop. This is the antagonist audiences argue about in the car park afterwards, because the diagnosis is usually correct and only the prescription is monstrous. In real terms it points to a strong internal compass and a low tolerance for slow processes. That combination gets things fixed. The counterweight worth keeping is a person you trust who is allowed to tell you when certainty has outrun the evidence, and whose objection you actually let land.

“As a villain I would be the Principled Extremist: right about the problem, alarming about the solution.”
🗝

The Curator

Your version would be about preservation. Curator antagonists want to keep something safe, intact and unchanged, and they turn dangerous at the precise moment the collection matters more than the people around it. In everyday life this shows up as care, memory and an excellent eye for what is worth protecting, which are genuinely valuable habits. The interesting question for you is which of the things you are guarding still needs guarding, and which one you could put down without losing anything that mattered.

“As a villain I would be the Curator, keeping everything safe and slightly too still.”
🎩

The Overlooked Understudy

The most common origin in the whole genre is being genuinely good at something and being genuinely ignored. Your imagined turn runs on that fuel: a long memory for who dismissed you and a quiet certainty that you could have done it better. As a real trait it reads as ambition with a grudge attached, and the ambition half is worth keeping. The freeing move is to stop building your case against the people who overlooked you and start showing the work to people who have not yet formed a view.

“As a villain I would be the Overlooked Understudy, with an excellent memory for slights.”
🛡

The Loyal Enforcer

You would go wrong through devotion rather than ambition, which is why this archetype is often the most sympathetic figure in the story. Enforcers keep their promises past the point where the promise made sense, and the drama comes from watching a good instinct outlive its object. In practice you are the person others rely on absolutely, and that is a real and rare strength. The discipline it asks for is checking, now and then, whether the cause still deserves the loyalty you keep paying into it.

“As a villain I would be the Loyal Enforcer, keeping a promise long past its expiry.”
🕶

The Charming Broker

Your hypothetical route runs through leverage rather than force. Brokers understand that everybody wants something and that most doors open if you know which one, and on screen they are the antagonists who never raise their voice. Read positively, this is social intelligence of a high order: you read rooms fast, you find the trade, you make things possible that stalled for everyone else. The line worth holding is the difference between finding what people want and using it, which is entirely a question of what you do next.

“As a villain I would be the Charming Broker, and I would never need to raise my voice.”
